“I deserve an encore, y’all should welcome me back…”
Those are the first words that you hear on the opening track “Encore”. This serves to be a fitting title and the perfect introduction to the second installment of JP One’s Fire & Brimstone mixtape series.
JP One, aka Jackpot The Chosen One, hails from Detroit, MI and grew up in Benton Harbor. JP One had a rough childhood, but throughout all the trials and tribulations, one thing that has remained the same is JP One himself.
Young Thug has said some pretty interesting things lately. As of recently, he has expressed his thoughts on rappers being too “old” to rap. It even raises the question of, how old is too old to rap?
On April 19, 1994, Illmatic was first introduced to the world. Little did everyone know, it would become one of the most celebrated hip hop albums of all time. It’s been 20 years since Nas released his first studio album and till this day it is still considered a classic to many. But what makes this a classic record?
How I know an album is dope is by it not having guest features. 2014 Forest Hills Drive features J. Cole and J. Cole only and he shines through each and every single track.
I’m making it a point to fully introduce myself to Avery Sunshine when I get a chance. I had my channel stuck on the VH-1 Soul channel when I first heard this beautiful song. I love the vibe of it and her voice is very soothing. I will definitely be on the lookout for this artist. If you haven’t heard of her, check out the song and video below.
I had a chance to watch the Aaliyah movie on Lifetime. It did not do any justice to Aaliyah and her legacy whatsoever. She will forever be missed and we can only reminisce with the amazing music she has left behind. About to take it back with one my favorite joints, “If Your Girl Only Knew”.
R.I.P. Baby Girl…
Teyana Taylor is back with a brand new single titled “Maybe” featuring Yo Gotti and Pusha T. This is definitely a song I will be bumping in the summer. It’s very catchy and Taylor’s voice is flawless. Check it out here.
There are many reasons to get familiar with The PARTYNEXTDOOR as I’ve mentioned here (insert article). The R&B crooner has a new song called “Her Way”. While we are awaiting his album which isn’t set to be released sometime next spring, enjoy this mid-tempo jam.
It’s also available for download.
